Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have killed a Palestinian father and his young daughter, according to Palestinian health officials and local emergency services, as the conflict between Israel and Hamas continues to escalate.

Medical sources in Gaza reported that the two civilians were killed during overnight strikes targeting areas in the northern part of the territory. Local authorities said the victims were inside a residential building when the strike occurred. Emergency teams later recovered the bodies from the rubble.

The Israeli military said it has continued operations across Gaza as part of its campaign against Hamas following the militant group’s attacks on Israel. Israeli officials maintain that their strikes are aimed at Hamas infrastructure and fighters but acknowledge that civilian areas can be affected because militants operate within densely populated neighborhoods.

UN officials have also called for increased humanitarian access to Gaza amid continued bombardment and displacement.
